Introduction to Circumcision

Circumcision is a procedure that involves the removal of the foreskin that covers the glans of the penis. Indications may be medical, cosmetic, religious or cultural. Our clinic offers this procedure for adults and newborns.

Medical indications for circumcision

Medical indications include phimosis, paraphimosis, balanitis, balanoposthitis, foreskin fissures, balanitis xerotica obliterans, and condylomas.

Preparation for newborn circumcision?

Most parents have made the decision to circumcise their baby before birth. We would like parents to contact us as soon as possible as we like to do the procedure on babies before 4 weeks of age.

Preparation for adult circumcision

Patients should stop taking blood thinning medications 7 days before the procedure. They should also shave the genital area around the penis to facilitate administration of the local anesthetic.

Circumcision techniques and patient experience

We use several techniques depending on the anatomy and complexity of the indication, aiming for the best possible cosmetic result. Patients can bring their music for a more relaxed experience.

What should I expect after circumcision?

Post-operative care and recovery

It is normal to feel some discomfort and swelling after the procedure. The redness and swelling may last 3-4 weeks. We recommend using ice packs, taking pain medication, and avoiding strenuous physical activity and sexual intercourse for several weeks.

Medical monitoring and convalescence

Our nurse will contact you a few days after the procedure to ensure a good recovery.
